Step 2: Envision
Turning ideas into a clear, achievable direction
Collaborate with an Interior Designer
Over 75% of our projects are completed alongside talented Interior Designers. If you’d like to work with one, we’ll connect you with one of our trusted partners.
Benefits of working with an Interior Designer:
- Layout design to optimize the flow and function of your space
- Expert guidance on material selections (cabinets, countertops, tile, and accessories), as well as paint colors, furniture, and décor
- Seamless communication between the Interior Designer and our construction team
- Design boards to help you visualize textures, colors, and overall design choices
- A beautiful, cohesive space that you will be proud to call home
- If you choose to work with one of our trusted Interior Designers we waive our Project Development Fee.

DIY (Design It Yourself) & Project Development
If you decide not to partner with an Interior Designer, no problem. however we do charge a 4% Project Development fee.
What’s included with our Project Development:
- Establish your layout, relocations, structural changes, etc.
- Connecting you with our trusted vendors for you to choose your material selections (cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring & more)
- Working through our Project Development Packet, this packet details out every element and selection item that you will need to choose for your project, from the trim profile, paint, hardware placement, tile patterns, grout colors, appliance specifications just to name a few.
Step 3: Plan
Finalizing the Details
Once we understand your vision, we’ll prepare a formal bid for your project. This includes:
- Layout & Design Confirmed
- All Selections Chosen
- Formal Fixed-Scope Proposal with clear pricing & expectations
For additions or larger new construction projects, we require a 1% fee based on the higher end of your project’s investment range, even if you decide to work with an Interior Designer. This fee allows us to prepare a detailed, accurate quote that outlines all aspects of your project. If your addition includes a bathroom, kitchen, or basement, please refer to Option 1 or Option 2 for these add-ons.
Everything is thoughtfully planned and documented before construction begins – so you know exactly what you are getting.

Throughout the construction process, we prioritize making the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. We take our responsibility to help you achieve your vision seriously. You are entrusting us with your home, and we are committed to delivering a finished product that makes us worthy of that trust.
Personalization is part of the process.
Envision
To start, we ask you to share photos of your space, some notes about your goals, and your ballpark budget so we can begin to learn about your vision.
Explore
Once we’ve had the opportunity to review your project based on the details you provide, we arrange a visit to conduct an assessment and to learn as much as we can about what you hope to achieve.
There will be a $100 site measurement fee for this meeting, which will cover the cost of our team traveling to your home and developing a more detailed estimate. This fee will go towards the cost of your remodel.
Plan
We are then prepared to put together a formal bid that includes a quote, timeline, and design. If you choose to proceed, we require a 1% fee based on the higher end of the budget range included with the formal bid. This allows us to complete a detailed quote, spelling out each element of your project before landing on a final price. (If drawings and 3D renderings are required, the fee rises to 2%.)
In this phase, we also confirm material selections to ensure your detailed quote is accurate and that your project will come to life as you envision. We have a number of outstanding sources for products, and we insist on high-quality selections for all of our remodels. This allows us to provide a 10-year warranty on our work along with industry-leading warranties from our preferred manufacturers. It also provides you with peace of mind that your space will be built with durable, exceptional materials that will serve your family far into the future.
Build
It’s time to get to work! We kick off the build phase of each project with energy and excitement! We curate a file with all the details of your project to ensure that our field team is well-versed on the ins-and-outs of your project before we ever swing a hammer.
Through every step, we work hard to make the process easy and enjoyable. And above all, we take our responsibility to help you achieve your vision to heart. You’re entrusting us with your home, and we’re committed to providing you with a finished product that makes us worthy of that trust.
A Word From Our Clients
Jason and Noah came to look at the bathroom, the damage below, and the related plumbing, electrical and structural needs, then presented us with a comprehensive estimate to repair the bathroom and all related areas.
They sent us to three different vendors for new fixtures and plumbing. Each was easy to deal with, responsive to our design ideas, and mindful of our budget. When everything was in place, our job was scheduled and the “Process” and communication with Vision Construction went smoothly.
Demolition revealed that the tile, floor and tub were probably installed in 1931. A repair around 1990 and installation of new toilet and vanity were the only other previous updates. John Schott’s supervision of the whole project was excellent. John, Jake and Josh handled the demolition. John, Curt and David were most present for tile work and later finishes. Everyone involved was skilled, courteous, careful to clean up every day, and good at communicating.
Change orders were clearly communicated and even some unexpected additional scope to demolition was reasonably priced with options presented. Vision Construction heard our concerns about making sure plumbing, electrical, and structural work brought the new bathroom to a beautiful and wonderfully functional completion!
Along the way when there were setbacks, Vision Construction took full responsibility and resolved all issues. I bring that up not to indicate problems, but instead to point to their skill and attentiveness when inevitable concerns cropped up. I would describe their resolution of challenges as generous and thorough.
Throughout the project, there was someone here each day, progress was steady and well-documented in the Buildertrend app, and the end result is magnificent. We couldn’t be more pleased. We recommend Vision Construction to anyone!
2018: Vision Construction did an amazing job on our exterior home project. They rebuilt an existing deck and patio, extended our driveway, and extended a porch in Mariemont. They easily navigated the architect, other subcontractors and our local building inspectors and ordinances. They are professional, courteous, and kind. I highly recommend Vision Construction for any home project.
**update August 2022: From previous projects, we knew we would be satisfied with the quality of the outcome. Also, the guys (Noah, Jake, Kurt, Josh, Luciano and his team) were all very professional, friendly and pleasant. They were always on time, kept job site immaculate. We were able to continue using our kitchen throughout the process. We appreciated that Noah and Josh were able to install the light boxes with no damage to the ceiling. Jake was very detailed and neat when painting the ceiling. Absolutely no damage, especially to our existing cabinets and floors.
As Noah can attest, I reached your company by "happy accident". I intended to reach another Vision Construction and reached your company instead. I was so very happy I did! Vision Construction is very special and I truly believe it is because of the character of your employees. What a refreshing experience it was to work with Noah, John, Curtis and Jake-they all seem to be guys of great character. You will be first on our list to call for any future projects!
We had dreamed for years of adding a sun room addition (2 different homes) We finally decided to do it - for ourselves.
Jason, John and Noah (and all the sub contractor's) did amazing quality work. Our "all season room" was completed last June. Still, everyday (a year later) we mention to each other how much we "love this room" Accept for cooking and sleeping, we spend all in door time in this room (controlled climate on those 90+ degree days, beautiful wooded view year round). Changed the look of the entire house (so much more natural light and brighter now). It is the best investment we have ever made - we made it in ourselves. A big Kudos and Thank you to Jason, John, Noah and all the excellent sub contractors who made our dream possible.
