This whole home remodel in Madeira, Ohio, brought new life and functionality to every corner of the first floor. The renovation included a complete kitchen transformation, a refreshed mudroom, and a serene primary bathroom upgrade—each space thoughtfully redesigned to enhance the home’s flow and everyday livability.
In the kitchen, walls were reconfigured to open up the space and create a better connection between the main living areas. The new layout features custom cabinetry, brass accents, and warm wood tones balanced with crisp white finishes—creating a timeless yet inviting design. The mudroom was reimagined with custom built-ins painted in a soft blue tone, providing both character and organization. Upstairs, the primary bathroom was elevated with a freestanding soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower, and a soothing palette that evokes a spa-like retreat.
This project was beautifully curated by Rachel Henry of Sanctuary Designs, whose attention to detail and cohesive vision ensured that each space feels distinct yet harmoniously connected throughout the home.

The range hood and crown molding were sourced from different suppliers rather than the cabinet manufacturer. As a result, these pieces required custom color-matched paint. However, the initial color scan of a cabinet sample resulted in a shade that was slightly off from the surrounding cabinetry
Several paint samples were created and tested onsite under natural and artificial lighting to ensure an accurate color match. Adjustments were made to the formula until the finish blended seamlessly with the existing cabinetry. Once the correct shade was achieved, the hood and crown molding were carefully painted and finished to provide a cohesive, factory-quality appearance.
This project was designed by Rachel Henry of Sanctuary Designs. Rachel worked closely with the client and worked through the overall floor plan, material selections, tile pattern, color palettes & textures that make this space complete.
During the design phase, we worked with Rachel & the client to establish a realistic budget for the project, timeframe, start date and more. Once the designs were completed, selections were made we had all the information to present a formal proposal.
The customer is given access to Buildertrend, a platform where we manage all of our projects, providing the customer with daily updates for completed phases, submit change orders, secured payments & more.
With the designs confirmed, selections made, budget set, time frame arranged & signed project proposal it was time to get started. With all material selections made, ordering was made easy. We ordered all the materials directly to our shop in preparation for the project start date and ensured all items were indeed correct and intact. Just one damaged item could have caused unnecessary lead time.
