This kitchen remodel in Terrace Park, Ohio, reimagined a dated layout into a bright, functional, and beautifully refined culinary space. Clean lines, timeless materials, and thoughtful storage solutions come together to create a kitchen that feels both modern and enduring—crafted for everyday living as well as elevated entertaining.
Warm white cabinetry anchors the design, offering a classic backdrop enhanced by sleek black hardware for a crisp, contemporary contrast. The custom range hood becomes an architectural focal point, its sculpted form adding depth and sophistication to the room. Softly reflective vertically stacked subway tile backsplash brings subtle texture and warmth, interacting beautifully with the under-cabinet lighting to create a gentle glow throughout the workspace.
The layout was optimized for efficiency, including well-designed corner storage that maximizes functionality without sacrificing style. Dark quartz countertops provide durability and balance against the light cabinetry, while natural wood flooring adds warmth and continuity across the space.
Every finish and detail was thoughtfully selected by Rachel Henry of Sanctuary Designs, whose eye for balance and timeless appeal elevates this kitchen. Her clean, refined palette and attention to both aesthetics and function shine through in every corner of the space.

Venting the new range hood proved more complicated than expected. The original plan—to run the exhaust through the soffit—became unworkable once we discovered the roof pitch made that area inaccessible from the attic.
To ensure proper ventilation, we pivoted to routing the exhaust through the roof instead. Our team carefully removed and replaced shingles, fully resealing the area to maintain the home’s weather protection and prevent any future leaks.
This project was designed by Rachel Henry of Sanctuary Designs. Rachel worked closely with the client and worked through the overall floor plan, material selections, tile pattern, color palettes & textures that make this space complete.
During the design phase, we worked with Rachel & the client to establish a realistic budget for the project, timeframe, start date and more. Once the designs were completed, selections were made we had all the information to present a formal proposal.
The customer is given access to Buildertrend, a platform where we manage all of our projects, providing the customer with daily updates for completed phases, submit change orders, secured payments & more.
With the designs confirmed, selections made, budget set, time frame arranged & signed project proposal it was time to get started. With all material selections made, ordering was made easy. We ordered all the materials directly to our shop in preparation for the project start date and ensured all items were indeed correct and intact. Just one damaged item could have caused unnecessary lead time.
